JuJu is available in two models and can be used by women of all ages. Sizing is based on age, childbearing history and pelvic floor tone. This model is suitable for women who have not had a vaginal birth. For further information see the guide below.
Guide for sizing of Model 2
The following table is a guide to model numbers based on childbearing history;
1 - Women who HAVE NOT had a vaginal birth
2 - Women who HAVE had a vaginal birth
Please note that the sizing recommendations should be used as a guide only.
If you have had a cesarean birth a Model 1 or Model 2 JuJu may be suitable.
Position of cervix is also a key consideration:
3 High cervix or long vaginal canal
4 Low cervix or short vaginal canal
When selecting a Model number, please also consider the other factors below in conjunction with child bearing history.
Pelvic floor tone and exercise
There may be a loss of pelvic floor tone due to hormonal changes and/or age. In this case, a Model 2 may be a preferred choice. A Model 4 should be considered if there is a loss of pelvic floor tone in conjunction with a low cervix.
If you have good pelvic floor tone, practice regular Kegel exercises or other activities, such as Pilates, yoga or dance, you may wish to consider a Model 1 regardless of your childbearing history and age.
A Model 3 is recommended for people with good pelvic floor tone in conjunction with a high cervix.
A Model 4 is recommended for people who have lost some pelvic floor tone and have a low cervix. This Model should only be chosen if you are confident with removing a menstrual cup and are sure you have a low cervix.
Virgins and young women
A Model 1 is recommended for virgins and sexually active young people.
A Model 3 is recommended for virgins and sexually active young people with a high cervix/long vaginal canal.
If you have a petite or small build, you may wish to consider a Model 1 JuJu.
If you have a larger build, you may wish to consider a Model 2 JuJu.
If you have had corrective surgery, such as vaginoplasty or perineoplasty, you may want to consider a Model 1.
The Juju Menstrual Cup is folded and inserted, like a tampon. It then opens, creates a seal and collects menstrual flow. When full it is removed, emptied, rinsed and can be reinserted. In between cycles your menstrual cup is washed and stored ready for your next cycle
